The GENEBRE valves and taps are suitable for use with drinking water

08/01/2017

GENEBRE valves and taps comply with Spanish legislation (Royal Decree 140 of February 7th, 2003), where the health criteria for the quality of water for human consumption are established, and with the EU Directive 98/93/EC of November 3rd, 1998, concerning water quality for human consumption.

The prestigious Dr. Oliver Rodés Laboratory regularly tests GENEBRE valves and taps to assure compliance with the current legislation. The testing enables us to know the quality of the water flow, simulating the use of the valves and taps in a water distribution installation for human consumption. The procedure consists of a test to verify the possible migration of different metals into the water, analyzing it once it goes through the internal components of the tested elements.

The water must comply with the requirements of the current legislation of water for human consumption (the EU Directive 98/93/EC of November 3rd, 1998, and the Royal Decree 140 of February 7th, 2003).

GENEBRE continuously modifies our brass valve design to guarantee the quality.

Since 2012, GENEBRE brass valves have had the stamp CW617N, which shows that the brass in GENEBRE valves is top quality, and complies with the requirements of the European standard UNE EN 12.165. This stamp refers to a brass low in led and of impurities such as iron, tin, nickel and aluminum.

Our valves include unchromed male and female thread end connections, and although the production costs rise, the aptitude of the valves has been improved to comply with the valve legislation for the use of drinking water.

GENEBRE has always bet on quality, with more than 34 years of experience in the world of valves and accessories for fluid control, and water has always been our priority.
