Pneumatic actuators prepared for acids and corrosive environments

28/08/2015

The body of the actuator is made of extruded aluminium ASTM6005, and includes a hard-anodized component that protects against internal and external corrosion. The fine finish on the inside of the cylinder ensures a low friction coefficient. The outer surface is coated with a layer of blue polyester paint, to ensure better weatherproofing.

Genebre's new GNP Aluminium Pneumatic Actuator includes several bearings and guides on the gear racks and pistons, ensuring low friction and an optimal life cycle. We have also created a special design for the axis, to prevent it from becoming detached.

In order to ensure greater safety and resistance to corrosion, the return springs on the actuators have been designed for a single action, forming modulating cartridges with pre-loaded springs and covered with a special coating.

This effect is further enhanced by the mechanisation of the teeth in the gears and the piston, entirely machine-made for maximum efficiency and ensuring a precise and smooth impact between gear rack and gear.

The actuator has been manufactured in line with the latest specifications: ISO5211, DIN 3337 and Namur, allowing for the exchange of products and easy assembly of electromagnetic valves, limit switches and other accessories. We have also been awarded ATEX certification, in accordance with directive 94/9/EC on explosive atmospheres: Category II 2 GD T5 (Zones 1,2/ 21,22).
